Jemma Ostenfeld is an emerging Gold Coast artist born in the year of 1992. Throughout her 20 years of life, she has always been captivated by the art scene, but has only began to delve into her abilities of creating pieces of work within the past year after having the realisation that portraying her mind onto paper for the world to see is what she enjoys the most.
A little more about the artist...
'Throughout my body of work I have recreated captured moments of influential human beings whose minds exceed the standard state of mentality, and have transformed their appearance into my own personal view of what they represent. I have consistently assembled these images through the use of black watercolour paint, outlined with corresponding ink to reveal a simple yet detailed image with a classical appearance. They have also been comprised with unrealistic eyes, clouded with a mysterious and eccentric appearance, as I believe that they viewed existence from a completely different and profound perspective. The underlining message expressed through my work is that by focusing on the relevant aspects of life such as the exploration of the mind and the potential it contains, people are able to live in content without the unnecessary concerns of the material world'.
She is currently holding her first exhibition at Mod's and Rockers in Surfers Paradise, where she has successfully began to turn her aspirations into reality.
'I hope that in the future, my artwork can be appreciated and enjoyed by those who share the same point of view'.
