The award winning 'mettle - Fair Trade' range is the brain bank of Melbourne based fashion designer Brianna Hallihan, established after years of working within the industry both locally and abroad in London and Paris.
After work placement at the likes of Alexander McQueen and Martin Grant and post grad studies at Central Saint Martin`s London - mettle was conceived in Cambodia en route back home to Aussie land.
Each piece is fair trade accredited, limited edition and hand made using recycled bomb shell metal from the Khmer Rouge and Recycled Lucite.
The entire range is produced in Cambodia and Indonesia within a small, not for profit income generation and skills training project owned by it`s members.
All pieces are finished to the highest quality standards with our aim being to bridge the gap between design driven pieces and fair trade ethics.
Fair business dealings
mettle - fair trade supports small disadvantaged producers through a business relationship which is fair and non exploitative.
We make sure people are well-supported seeing producers as people; not just producers of goods.
The co-op inlisted by mettle is registered with the Cambodian government as a local association; a not for profit group owned by its members.
In line with this ethos, all pieces are made from 100% recycled materials. The end result is a hand made eco-luxe piece to be cherished for all the right reasons.
